SERVICE AREA

We provide premier external facilities services across the greater Philadelphia area and its surrounding areas.

Anti-Icing

Anti-icing is the application of products to surfaces like parking lots before a storm.

Anti-icing helps prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement. It is a lot like spraying a non-stick cooking spray on a frying pan. The spray prevents food from sticking to the bottom of your pan, creating an easier-to-clean pan. When we use anti-icing treatments on your walks and pavement, we are really preventing snow and ice from sticking to the surface.

At Sauers Snow & Ice, we offer two types of anti-ice treatments:

  • Liquid — 23.3% salt solution applied directly to the desired area.
  • Granular — a pre-storm coating of rock salt applied across the desired surfaces

While the choice between liquid or granular anti-ice is contingent upon the incoming weather, the benefit from an anti-ice pretreatment in the Philadelphia area is highly recommended.

Sidewalk Clearing

Maintaining sidewalks from snow and ice is our top priority due to liability from pedestrian use. At Sauers Snow & Ice, we prioritize making our client’s walkways safe to travel in and after every winter event.

With slip-and-fall cases causing avoidable and increased costs, gone are the days of merely having a maintenance worker shovel a path and scatter some salt in the entryway.

From our liquid anti-ice treatment to our enclosed cab sidewalk machines, we utilize the right tools for the job. We offer a variety of products, tools, and options to make sidewalks safe and clear before, during and after a winter event.

Snow Plowing

The basic and most essential service we offer is plowing. Clearing the frozen precipitation to the right locations is the building block of all our services.

The key to a quality snow contractor is not that they have a truck and a plow, but that they have the right plan, preparation, and personnel to service the property. A Sauers Custom Snow Response Plan will carefully evaluate the property’s equipment needed to meet the level of service our clients desire.

De-Icing

De-Icing is the process of removing snow, ice, or frost from a surface.

How does de-icing work?

Simply put, deicers lower the freeze-point of water. Typically, a granular salt mixture or a liquid solution is applied to the pavement and walks. The deicer dissolves and mixes with the surface water, coats the surface, and lowers the freezing point below 32° F. With a lower freeze-point, the water on your lots and walkways will resist freezing until significantly colder temperatures are reached.

There are a wide variety of deicing materials — from treated salt to various sidewalk recommended blends. We develop a custom deicing plan to fit each client’s specific property and budget needs.

Snow Relocation & Removal

Whether there is a single high-volume snow, or the heavy accumulation from multiple storms, we are ready and able to restack or remove the amassed snow that is negatively affecting our client’s property use.

Some clients are not in the position to “wait it out” in order to regain their facility’s space. Sauers Snow & Ice is fully capable of removing the snow that is clogging up the traffic patterns or that is reducing their parking capacity. Sauers will load and haul away the snow to restore our client’s property back to normal.

Trailer & Bus Roof Clearing

To avoid trouble down the road we use TrucBrush to clean off snow and ice quickly, safely, and effectively from the tops of our client’s trailers. No ladders, hand scrapers, or piles of snow waiting for the next truck to drive over.

We know that it is equally important for our distribution centers to be both safe and on-time. We are flexible to support our client’s existing snow scraping systems, or to provide the site with the necessary equipment to keep them on the road.

Let’s Talk Snow.

  • Frustrated trying to budget/forecast snow removal expenses
  • Disappointed by poor service from their current snow contractor
  • Worried about the chaos that snow causes in their day—every time it snows
  • Sometimes all 3!
