Integrated Deicing Services: The Gritty Facts
Sauers Snow and Ice Management services all aspects of snow and ice removal for businesses throughout the Greater Philadelphia/ Tri-State region. Snow removal services include but is not limited to snow plowing, snow disposal, anti-icing, and integrated deicing services.
What is deicing?
Deicing is the process of removing snow, ice or frost from a surface.
Why use integrated deicing services?
Ice on your walkways and parking lots can cause your customers and employees to slip and fall. Not only is this dangerous to anyone walking on your property, it is also a liability for your business. Ice is a potentially lose-lose situation, and in our region, ice happens every winter. Deicing is essential for preventing accidents caused by ice.
Why choose Sauers for deicing?
Some companies only spread abrasives on the ice, such as sand, cinders, and grit, but these only provide traction. Sauers knows the correct amounts of deicer to spread to ensure safe conditions and spread it evenly along the walkway. You’ve seen those walkways with clumps of rock salt in just one area, but it’s not helping the entire surface. Snow and ice management is our business; we are the pros!
How does deicing work?
The salt in the deicer lowers the freezing temperature of water. When the temperature drops below the freezing point (32 degrees F), water on your walkways will turn into ice. Then, if the temperature rises above freezing, the ice thaws back into water. A freeze-thaw cycle occurs throughout the winter. When deicer is applied on the walkway, the freezing temperature lowers, which means the water remains thawed at lower temperatures.
